In His Name and for His Glory

In His Name and for His GloryFor-His-Glory

I didn’t ask to be a missionary. It was never on the list of things I wanted to do. As a child, I never wanted to be a missionary when I grew up. Actually it never even entered my mind until a few years ago when God completely invaded my heart about the lost in other parts of the world. I will never forget that day……….the overwhelming feeling as the spirit of God flooded my heart and moved me to serve others. I believe Jason would say exactly the same thing. It is in His name and for His glory that we walk this road.

That day was the beginning. God works in our hearts so that we are moved to do His will. It would still be a couple of years before I would actually begin serving in the capacity to which He had called me. I didn’t try to plan it out on my own….I just waited and while I waited God did a great work in me…….preparing me for the future He had for me.

I have learned that allowing God to put it all together works much better than if I try to rush in and do it myself. His timing is perfect and things flow so much more seamlessly when we step back and watch Him lay it all out for us, being careful to only step where He is leading us.

If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” –1 John 3:17

Almost 2 years ago, God called Jason and me to the Dominican Republic…specifically the area in and around Don Pedro. The need there is so great. In 9 days we will leave on a 29 day mission trip. We will share Jesus with others. We will do Vacation Bible School type activities with the children. We will feed and clothe the less fortunate. We will also be organizing our scholarship program that will be used to encourage young girls to avoid prostitution as a means of survival.

“There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.” –Deuteronomy 15:11

God always provides us with other opportunities as well. When we went in October God led us to help two families whose homes were lost to an electrical fire. He always speaks so clearly, showing us the path He has laid before us.

God has moved my oldest daughter, Ashley, to serve others on the mission field. She feels called to be part of this ministry to which God has called us. Jason and I may be 1st generation missionaries but God is raising up a 2nd and possibly 3rd even as we speak. My cup runneth over!

God always provides, but it is our responsibility to share what He has called us to do so that others can be part of the blessing of giving. The message of giving is a central theme throughout the bible. God blesses us so much. Jesus gave His life for us….and we are also called to give regardless of how little or how much we have.

“Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” –Romans 12:13

I am praying that God-inspired Christians who desire to see the lost come to know Christ, who want to serve God by serving others, who want to be a blessing will join us in this cause. Whether it’s $10 or $100 or somewhere in between, we need your help. God wants to use you to reveal Himself to others.

We want those who join us to be known….we want to share your picture and who you are with the children you will help through our ministry. You are important in this evangelistic endeavor that God has blessed.

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” –Luke 6:38

If you have questions, INBOX me. If you want to know how you can give, INBOX me. We need 100 consistent supporters regardless of how much you give. Our children of Don Pedro continue to need long after we come home and we must have consistent support in order to care for them year round.
